Chatham Royal Docks Chauffeur Driven Sightseeing Tours

The Royal Docks in Chatham are situated on the River Medway in Kent.
Following the Reformation in the 16th century, relations with Catholic countries had soured sufficiently so that further defences were needed. It was established as a Royal Dockyard in 1567. The site is now a museum and houses five main attractions:

• Terraced gardens contain the lakes Churchill created, a water garden, Lady Churchill's rose garden, and the Golden Rose Walk, a golden anniversary gift from their children

• The rooms remain as they were when he lived here and are a memento of his life and great political career, containing much contemporary memorabilia

• The garden studio houses many of his paintings
